Art Brings You Success

We are living in an era of information explosion. Market competition is ever intensifying the in the twenty-first century, with the focus shifting from professionalism towards innovation and creativity. If one wish to stand out from the intense competition, one requires unsurpassed creativeness, imagination and initiative impetus to dominate the ever evolving future.

As one of the greatest Japanese entrepreneur, Konosuke Matsushita, once said to his enterprise: “A manager should be a comprehensive artist, if one run the business with the skills of an artist, truth, kindness and beauty will be brought to life here.” The great scientist Albert Einstein once said, “There are only two things in my life that guide my way. First is art and the second is science.” Chinese aeronautical engineer Qian Xue Sen, said to be the father of aerospace science in China, once emphasised to Premier Wan Jia Bao during a discussion on personnel training “To be an innovative scientist it is not sufficient to solely possess scientific knowledge, but must also be cultivated in cultures and arts.” Referring to China’s future, Premier Wen Jia Bao said, “Within the next 50 years, China will become the world’s creative and development centre.”

In hope to succeed in the future, we must learn to love arts and develop our artistic mastery. It is no wonder that the world’s richest man Bill Gate would frugally fly in economy class, yet spent USD 38 million to acquire Leonardo Da Vinci’s hand written notebook; clearly the charms of art is irresistible.

It is shameful to see that many of our current business elites, senior government officials and even our young Hong Kong students severely lack arts literacy. This have lead to a wide use of vulgar languages, distasteful appearance and uncultured lifestyle. This does not only affect their own image, but also influences their enterprise’s and the government’s image.

For this reason, we strongly advocate developing arts appreciation in our society, absorbing the works of artistic sages and cultivate artistic wisdom. It is through continuous improvement in our artistic knowledge and regular nourishment of our soul with the essence of arts, only then we can achieve a long lasting career.
